Our fifth year working together definitely threw us a challenge with the 2020 pandemic. The CEO of JYSK Sweden Johan Sjödin did not want to let his employees down by cancelling the event after a year of beating records within the sales organization. Johan was convinced that an alternative to the live event was better than to cancel… And we couldn’t agree more!
We got the mission to re-do the concept in to a digital event, and not just an one-way video stream – He wanted to create a full gala feeling online and interact with everyone at home and give them an experience as similar to the actual live event that they usually get. Most important of all, making sure that they really felt appreciated and seen by the management team.
Our solution was JYSK Galan 2020 Goes Digital – A brand new gala concept, full scale! The guests arena this year was their own living room and we broadcasted the gala in a TV show format for them to follow. Along we had the 2-way interaction with video dialogues, chat forum and competitions throughout the evening to create more engagement and presence.
Guests had in advance been sent out galaboxes containing a 3-course menu to cook themselves at home, a SPA gift for their day off and recipe from a professional chef as support to the cooking. To really boost their taste experience, we recorded short versions of how to prepare the dinner at home. On top of that, we did a live cook-along in the studio with chef Maria Zihammou just before the gala started.

It was a wonderful evening filled with live music, fantastic awards to employees, management team on sight testing the role of TV hosts, great food, laughter and most important, celebration!
The cook-along had over 350 viewers and the gala stream had over 1150.
